Course: CKC NCCP Level 1 Kayak Instructor for Pool and Lake
Dates/Times: Friday, March 30, 5:30 to 10:30 PM; Saturday, March 31, 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM, and Sunday, April 1, 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Location: Edmonton, Grant MacEwan University, Sport & Wellness Centre
Host: Ceyana Canoe Club
Prerequisite: intermediate flatwater paddling skills with good kayak control, completed or nearly completed roll to one side
Fees: tentatively, depends on numbers and final pool cost: maximum course fee $320 + registry fee $120 = $440 (based on 7 participants) A $250 deposit is required to hold a “seat”. Please make cheques payable to the Ceyana Canoe Club: and these may be sent to, or dropped off at, 5404 – 114 A Street, Edmonton, AB T6H 3M7, or delivered to Eric or Mark Lund. A final fee total will be determined.

kayaks & paddling gear: available from MacEwan, or you are welcome to provide your own – please insure your own kayaks and gear are CLEAN
Course Materials: will be provided in advance electronically, participants may optionally print their materials or bring to classes on a laptop. Assignments provided in advance must be completed prior to course commencement.
recertification options: present, or recently expired paddling instructors who wish to recertify must now complete some of the common NCCP theory modules in addition to a teaching and paddling re-evaluation. We are prepared to take a small number of such candidates and would expect them to attend the Saturday morning and afternoon sessions for the theory… and then paddling and instructional evaluations will be required and negotiated. Reregistration will be $120 + a course fee of $40 = $160
Deadlines & Maximums: insufficient enrollment (deposits received) deadline will be noon Monday, March 19th, minimum enrollment is 7, and maximum is 12, recertification candidates in addition.
