River Warnings

Many of us use the Alberta Government's river basin data for flow rates webpage - http://www.environment.alberta.ca/apps/basins/default.aspx to plan our trips.

But have you ever looked at the other links on this site?

Consider checking out http://www.environment.alberta.ca/forecasting/advisories/index.html where the advisories are posted - river watches, warnings and flood reports.

Another useful link is http://www.environment.alberta.ca/forecasting/ForecastersComments/index.html where the advisories are explained.

Both pages have a date & time stamp so you know how old the information is that you're reading. The forecaster's comments page also has a notice of when the next set of comments are going to be posted, so that you'll know when you'll be able to get the latest update.

Hopefully you'll find these links useful for your next adventure. Since the rivers are high, take a wander through the site...

Happy SAFE Paddling!
