River Course

Custom Design Introduction to River Canoeing: This two-day program will provide participants with basic river canoeing skills on moving water (Class I/II rapids). Day I will involve lake training, reviewing lake skills and introducing basic river skills. Day II will involve a river run - either a short section with lots of opportunity for whitewater skill development, or a longer section with a focus on river tripping. The section the group will do will be determined in discussion with the group, based on their objectives. All components of the program will focus on development of knowledge and skill in safety considerations, equipment requirements, strokes, maneuvers, self rescue skills and awareness of limitations. The result of learning all of the above skills/knowledge is a safe, FUN experience on the river!
