Update on Northwest Voyageurs 2020 Events

The Northwest Voyageurs is cautiously opening up some club trips however we will be only accepting renewal memberships for the 2020 season.  We ask that anyone interesting in joining the club for the first time wait until 2021.  This was a very difficult decision for the club executive but out of an abundance of caution it was felt it was the prudent choice to ensure the safety of new and returning members to the club. The tentative trip schedule is available on the Trips menu item.

We apologize for the disappointment this may cause and we hope to see you next year.

 Flatwater, Day Trip

 Novice and up

Water Class:

Class I. Some wind to be expected

Trip Description:

An out and back trip that is easily completed by paddlers of any skill level. Coal Lake is a long (~10km) narrow lake that can be susceptible to wind and does have some waves.

We are thinking of a picnic supper followed by an evening paddle.  This will be subject to weather, as the lake is subject to high winds.  We will obey social distancing which means no sharing of food, or equipment, or handling of each other's boats or helping transport other's boats.  If you tip, you will be rescued, but with a minimum of contact.  Oh and in honour of Canada Day, perhaps a small boat decorating contest will be held??
