Trip Description:

A weekend boat camping trip for newer paddlers.  We will launch from Genesee Bridge on Saturday morning, padd;le ~43km, camp a bit downstream of Devon Saturday night and paddle ~33km Sunday, landing at Laurier Park sometime Sunday afternoon.  Those that don't want to camp could end there trip at the Devon boat launch Saturday afternoon.

Participants need to be self-sufficient and have their own camping equipment, food, cooking ability, and either carry enough water (4-5 litres per person per day), or be able to filter the river.  All equipment must fit within your own canoe or kayak.

Trips are open to all current Northwest Voyageurs Canoe and Kayak Club members.

You must provide your own boat or have prearranged a rental from the club to participate in the trip.

Touring Kayak - Typically 12 feet long or more and 24" wide or less, with front and rear water tight compartments for flotation and storage, defined keel

Rec Kayak - Typically less than 12 feet long, often greater than 24" wide, with one or no water tight compartments, may or may not have a keel

Whitewater Kayak - Typically less than 10', no watertight compartments, no keel
